TU gets cricket academy

The 108-year-old Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club reached another milestone when they launched the Oval Cricket Academy October. 23. This new facility will be run by former Ananda and Bloomfield and Sri Lanka opener Brendon Kuruppu.
Speaking at the forum Brendon Kuruppu said “For the first time, the forthcoming Premier League will be played over 4 days. Will it last for four days or serve its purpose apparently when some of the national players are not playing for their respective clubs even when not on tour. The SLC must look into it. Today the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium, with all the facilities, is one of the best international grounds in the world.”In a small way the Tamil Union has started the Oval Cricket Academy. With Brendon as head coach.
