TMVP cadre shot dead

A TMVP cadre engaged in election campaigning was shot dead in Kalkudah in the Batticaloa district, by an unidentified person last night, Police said. This was the first election-related killing in the Batticaloa District after nominations for the provincial council elections were called. Reports also said a group of TMVP cadres had gone to the area following the incident.
