Mother Lanka
Lying in the warm heart of the sea,
The "Pearl" shines bright
and clean;
Many great rulers ruled this land,
I'm proud to say it's my
motherland.
People think the country is small,
They never think the nation's strong;
People living here are of course nice,
The crop we cultivate is rice.
Terrorists attack us from the North,
The Tsunami hit us from the South;
Landslides wash away the beautiful hills,
Droughts scorch the dry zone still.
Though we fall many a time,
By these bitter disaster times;
We all stand united and strong,
For peace and unity of "Ceylon."
