Ad veteran passes away

R. Oliver Perera

R. Oliver Perera, a veteran in the advertising industry, recently passed away. He was the Chairman, Metropolitan Advertising Ltd and a former President and founder member of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Sri Lanka. He started Metropolitan Advertising in 1956 at the tender age of 23 years and was one of the youngest to become a Managing Director.

He was a contemporary of such illustrious media personalities as D.B. Dhanapala, Thevis Guruge, Livy Wijemanne, Ananda Tissa de Alwis, etc. Perera was also the founder charter president of the Lions Club of Elvitigala.
