Alex takes over sevens squad

Former Sri Lankan player and Assistant Coach Nishantha Chanaka has been appointed as the Sri Lanka National Team’s Sevens Coach with immediate effect.

Chanaka better known as Alex in rugby circles is currently coaching Havelocks in the Caltex Segment ‘A’ Division One League tournament.

Under his guidance the Park Club has won four successive matches and are now being regarded as the dark horses for league trophy.

Serving the national team is nothing new to Alex. Since hanging up his boots Alex has been involved with both the Sri Lankan 15 a side and seven a side team in various capacities.
