The Aranayake water supply line is in a very dilapidated condition, and water supply is often disrupted for days on end, especially after heavy rains. When this happens, it is a great inconvenience to consumers.
Besides serving residents in the area, this line also supplies water to the Aranayaka Base Hospital, the AGA’s office, and several government institutions.
Repair work on the water supply line is urgently needed. It would take about two or three days to carry out the repairs. Several requests have been made to the General Manager of the Water Supply and Drainage Board, Kandy, but these appeals seem to have fallen on deaf ears. We hope the authorities will take immediate action in this very urgent matter.
