Mathew C. Thomas recently assumed duties as General Manager of the Taj Airport Garden Hotel in Seeduwa, taking over from Sanjay Singh who moves to India on a new assignment.
Thomas counts 28 years experience in the hospitality industry with specialisation in Hotel Operations and Management and F&B Service. He joined the Taj Group of Hotels in 1980 and has enjoyed postings at the Taj Residency Ernakulam, Taj Residency Vishakapatanam, Taj Coromandel Chennai, Taj Malabar Kochi and the Taj Sheba Sana'a Yemen.

During this nearly three decade period, Thomas has worked in different capacities within the Taj Group and has a vast hands-on experience in related fields in the hospitality industry. Under his stewardship, the Taj Residency in 2007 was chosen as the Best Five Star Hotel in the State of Kerala for three consecutive years (2005 - 2007). Similarly the Taj Residency Vishakapatanam was chosen as the Best Five Star Hotel in the State of Andhra Pradesh with Thomas at the helm in 2003.
Thomas has a Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology from the Institute of Hotel Management Chennai and a Pre-Degree from the Loyola College Chennai. An Executive Member of Cochin Travel and Tourism, he is also a member of the Classified and Approved Hotels of Kerala and the Kerala Management Association. A keen sportsman with a passion for cricket, tennis and chess, Mathew is fluent in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi, and, is an avid reader.
