Under the theme 'family life', the weekly film screening at the American Centre will screen Academy awarded 'American Beauty' on Thursday November 13 at 6 pm. The debut direction of Sam Mendes, the film narrates the dark side of an American family, and about the nature and price of beauty in a culture obsessed with outward appearances.
Starring Annette Bening, Kevin Spacey, Mena Suvari, Thora Birch and Wes Bentley, the film was released in 1999.
Lester Burnham (Spacey) is a 42-year-old man in a severe mid-life crisis.
