Ananda Dabare and Eshantha Peiris team up for a violin and piano recital which will present a variety of music from the Romantic era, on November 18 (Tuesday) at the Lionel Wendt Theatre.
The concert will include Cesar Franck’s sonata for violin and piano in A major, Tchaikovsky’s ‘Meditation’, Brahms’ D minor sonata for violin and piano and Saint-Saens’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccio.
Ananda Dabare needs no introduction to Sri Lankan music lovers. Having studied violin at the Moscow Conservatory and the Odessa Conservatory where he earned the degree of Master of Fine Arts, he returned to Sri Lanka and established the Krasna Chamber Ensemble. A much sought-after violin teacher, he is concert master of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka.
Eshantha Peiris who recently returned from New York where he studied piano performance and music composition at New York University, has been actively involved in the local classical, jazz and choral music scene, having established the Aumkar School of Multicultural Arts.
The recital begins at 7.30 p.m and tickets are available at the Wendt.
