‘Phase 3’ at Mount Lavinia Hotel Terrace on New Year’s Eve

At Mount Lavinia Hotel, commencing 9.00pm onwards, the Terrace under the stars will play host to one of the most spectacular al fresco parties ever.

'Phase3' is a band that stands out and refuses to sound like any other band. They have given a different touch to most of the songs they play to draw out the lyrics and the depth of meaning within. The group's music is a speciality and they do not belong to the category of predictable music. They ensure that their repertoire constantly absorbs new hits on the global charts which gives added attraction to the band. PHASE3's wide repertoire takes in besides latin, latin laced funk, hip hop, reggae, the blues, the 'golden oldies' as the music is termed and strict tempo dance music.

This six piece outfit comprises a variety of talent, led by versatile percussionist Rasmar Lye the group comprises Trevin Joseph - lead vocals and guitar, Sampath Kuruwita - keyboard and vocals, Sudath Munaweera- lead guitar and vocals, Asiri Gunewardena - bass guitar and vocals and Chamal Ingurusinghe- Drums.

Rasmar performs with a variety of percussion instruments which gives PHASE3 a totally different identity. Trevin who has been in the music scene for a long time, has a style of his own. Sudath the guitarist, needs no introduction. He has performed with some of Sri Lanka's top bands and strums a mean guitar. Asiri the bass player, with lots of exposure in Europe, makes his bass guitar do the talking. Sampath the Keyboardist, a wizard on the keys has a vocal styling of CCR and UB40.

Chamal the newcomer to the band keeps a steady groove on the skins. A gala buffet with an array of scrumptious, succulent eats, a spectalcular fireworks display, Phase 3, DJ Pier, koththuu station after dinner, traditional breakfast, prizes and surprises including air tickets.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 10,000/- per person.
