The ECU/ACBT Alumni Association will host the legendary Australian cricketer and brand Ambassador for Navitas Limited, Steve Waugh on February 26, 2009. The programme titled 'An Evening with Steve Waugh' will focus on a keynote address by the former Australian Captain. The discussion will be followed by cocktails at the Taj Samudra Hotel.
Working in association with Edith Cowan University (Australia), ACBT commenced operations in Colombo in March 1998 with 23 students. Today that number has grown to over 1200 students studying foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business and Information Technology, making ACBT the largest provider of Australian degree programs in Sri Lanka.
ACBT became part of the Australian based company Navitas Limited in December 2007. Navitas is the world's largest provider of educational services with colleges in Australia, the UK, Canada and Africa.
The ECU/ACBT MBA Alumni Association was launched in August 2008 and currently has 75 members. A top priority for the year ahead includes being actively engaged in the local community through various CSR initiatives, while at the same time promoting goodwill between Sri Lanka and Australia and providing extensive networking opportunities for graduates.
'An evening with Steve Waugh' will be open to all corporate executives and the general public with tickets for the event being priced at Rs.3000/- while students of ACBT and alumni members will be entitled to tickets at a concessionary rate.
