Beat – Bedazzling Experience of Aspiring Talent an evening of drum and dance will be organised by the Interact Club of Visakha Vidyalaya.
The organisers hope to showcase performances by various schools in and around Colombo, which will include group and solo performances. One of the fundamental features of this project is to await the dynamic participation to portrait the unexploited potential in the young generations and also to value what we are sanctified with.
The performances will be a fusion of Eastern, Western, Hip Hop, Jazz and Kandyan styles of dance and drumming. “A few outsiders will perform as well and it will be a diverse programme,” said Nilushka Perera, Co Chairperson of the programme.
The Interact club is a rotary sponsored non-profit oriented service based movement that brings the youth of a nation together in the age groups of 14-20 years. The activities of the Interact Club provides opportunities for impressionable youth to be constructively occupied and mature into responsible adults with the ability to accept the varied challenges they will encounter in their endeavours in the future.
Beat – Bedazzling Experience of Aspiring Talent is the Interact Club of Visakha Vidyalaya’s main Community Service project for the Interact Year of 2008/2009. The proceeds of the event are in aid of two main projects. One being in aid of donating artificial limbs, crutches and wheel chairs to army servicemen as well as anyone else who needs them, while the other is to construct a tube-well in an area of water scarcity.
Through such charitable projects the organisers look forward to raising money to bring relief to thousands affected by war, natural disasters and well-being issues etc. Beat – Bedazzling Experience of Aspiring Talent will be held on Friday March 6, 2009 at 6.30pm at the Bishop’s College Auditorium. Tickets will be available at the gate and at Visakha Vidyalaya and will be priced at Rs. 350/-, 400/- and 500/.
