‘Infor Rock’ at Bishop’s College

‘Infor Rock’, a grand musical evening organized by the sports club of the Informatics Group will come alive at the Bishop’s College Auditorium at 6.30pm onwards on March 14. ‘Infor Rock’ will feature popular bands Black and Gypsies.

Gypsies along with Sunil Perera and Luluu will perform at the concert. ’We, are organizing this musical show as the starter of our scheduled fund raising activities for the year 2009’ said Thakshila Jayasinghe of the organizing committee.

BLACK... has been in the local music scene for over seven years and are very well known as a popular dance band. All six members, Ranil Amirthiah, Kavinda Rodrigo, Namal Hettiarachchi, Indika Adikari, Evo Ferdinandez and Ashan de Silva are founder members, which is rare today.

‘The Black’ is undoubtedly the one of the only remaining bands that play oldies, pop, rock, reggae,70’s, heavy rock and Baila without losing the flavour’ Thakshila said.

‘We are always ready to cater to the requests of the audience and play accordingly. But still we play ‘retro’ he added. By April Black says they will be releasing their maiden album.
