New N. Eliya courts complex opening today

The new courts complex at Nuwara Eliya consisting of the High Court and the Labour Tribunal built at a cost of Rs. 180 million is to be declared open at 2 p.m. today under the patronage of Chief Justice Sarath N Silva.

The foundation stone for the new complex was laid by the Chief Justice himself on December 29, 2007 and the completion of the complex in just under 18 months has come in for praise from the residents of Nuwara Eliya.

The construction of the three-storey complex was undertaken by the Central Engineering and Consultancy Bureau.
