The "CIM Cricket Fiesta 2009" for the CIM Challenge Trophy organized by The Student Committee of The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region was held at the BRC Grounds, Colombo. This was the inaugural project of the CIM Student Committee and had a participation of over 450 CIM students, representing the seven CIM Accredited Study Centres in Colombo.
Many CIM lecturers, Study Centre Heads, CIM Sri Lanka Board and Management Committee Members and Regional Office staff were present at the event. The Knowledge Factory won the CIM Challenge Trophy 2009 while The Academy of Business Studies (ABS) was first runner up. The Knowledge Factory also bagged the prizes for "Best Tent" and "Best Cheering Squad". Several competitions and entertainment activities had also been organised to make the day more exciting and fun-filled.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region launched the "CIM Student Group" as an initiative towards promoting networking amongst the CIM student population and to encourage students' involvement in The Institute's activities.
The launch of the CIM Student Committee is one of several initiatives taken by The Institute towards the development of approximately 3000 CIM students who comprise the majority of The Institute's membership.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing is the world's largest and most prestigious professional body for marketing in over 80 countries around the world. CIM Sri Lanka Region is the first CIM International Region and largest CIM body outside UK. For the fourth consecutive year, CIM Sri Lanka Region was awarded the "Best Region Award" at the CIM International Chairmen's Conference - 2008 in recognition of the excellent contribution towards creating value to its membership and local community. |
