Chitral to perform with Luxembourg philharmonic orchestra

Internationally renowned rock vocalist Chitral “Chity” Somapala of ‘Civilization One’ will be performing Rock Anthems with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (conducted by Prof.Gast Waltzing) on the 21st June 2009 for the Féte de la Musique in Luxembourg City.

Chitral is a much in-demand singer due to his chameleon-like vocal range, which can adapt to any musical situation he’s presented with. From soulful blues tenor to intense, aggressive metal maniac, from melodic pop singer to classic rock stylist, Chitral instills passion into every single note he sings.

Songs to be performed at this free outdoor concert  include classic tracks by ‘Led Zeppelin, Queen, Deep Purple, Uraih Heep and Yes’. This promises to be an event not to be missed.

Some of the artistes who have previously performed with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra at this and other events include ‘The Scorpions’, ‘Patricia Kaas’, ‘Didier Lockwood’, and ‘New York Voices’.
Chitty was performing with Sri Lankan band ‘Friends’ in Switzerland few years back.

He is the son of late P.L.A. Somapala and Chithra Somapala, the legendry singers of Sri Lankan music scene in the seventies.
