Three injured in attack on Mano meeting

At least three supporters of the Western Peoples Front (WPF) were injured when they came under attack during a party meeting at Passara in the Badulla district last morning.WPF leader Mano Ganeshan told police that they believed that the attackers were from the rival Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC). The private vehicle used by Mr. Ganeshan was also damaged in the attack.

Mr Ganeshan alleged that a regional politician from the CWC had led the attack. He told The Sunday Times the attack was aimed at disrupting the campaign for the Uva provincial council poll to be held on August 8.
