At last the war is over!
For us to live in peace…
We prayed and hoped for this wonder,
Till the bloody battle ceased.

Now we all can live in happiness,
Sharing sorrow, surprise and suspense,
Because we are all Sri Lankans,
Looking forward for a day of remembrance.

Let me thank the president and soldiers,
They are the true heroes;
Who saved this land from the terrible tigers…
Hats off to their valuable services!

Mother Lanka, do not fear
Cause we are there to save you,
Now that we are finally united,
Let's all join hands to build this island!
