Union Assurance made its presence felt in the North Zone way back in 2005, and has been continuously touching the hearts of the community in the North Zone by way of community service activity. Union Assurance PLC was the 1st private sector insurer to commence operations in Jaffna and also the 1st insurer to open a branch office in Point Pedro.
Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management team of Union Assurance recently visited the northern zone in order to open the Point Pedro branch and during their visit, UA generously contributed to uplift the hospital facility of three main hospitals in the North zone namely General Hospital Jaffna, Point Pedro & Valvatiturai. The contribution towards uplifting hospitals have been consistent with Union Assurance and in the recent past, the Company also contributed towards uplifting the Jaffna & Karenagar hospitals and many more hospitals throughout the island.
The Jaffna branch of Union Assurance currently houses over 70 staff members recording a significant momentum in both life and general insurance operations. In the coming months we will be opening branches in strategic locations covering the Valikamam, Vadamarachchi and Thenmanachchi zones in the Jaffna Peninsula and we hope that these expansions will create over thousands of job opportunities and will be able to provide insurance solutions to the community which will have a direct impact towards the development of the North stated Mr. Rukman Weerarathne - General Manager Marketing & Distribution, Union Assurance PLC.
