Learn about various aspects of theatre - from production designing to backstage and everything else in-between - from theatre personality Indu Dharmasena.
An 'introduction to acting' will be conducted among children aged 8 years and above and will highlight techniques such as improvisation, characterization, projection, movement and dance among other aspects of drama on an individual basis. Group drama techniques, which help foster team work will also be incorporated and will focus on vocal skills, interaction and chorus work.
Children and young adults aged 13 and above, who are interesting in directing dramas will also have the opportunity to learn about classical and contemporary text interpretation, presentation, movement and blocking and directing actors in a drama.
Courses in production designing and backstage will focus on the importance of overall excellence in a drama. Production designing will cover techniques such as set and costume designing and the making of props while the backstage course will allow its students to gain insight into stage management, lights and sound and basic make up.
