Silvermill, the new concept of nutrition in a pack

Silvermill is a range of ready to eat tropical fruits and vegetables in packs, a pioneering effort by S.A. Silva and Sons which was launched recently. The company said it was done after much research into improving the eating habits of Sri Lankans, while creating a range of products without any preservatives except for two products which contain the specified quantity of preservatives.

“The range consists of five categories of tropical abundance in various packs to suit our taste buds while maintaining a long shelf life, yet retaining its wholesomeness. Research also indicates the high dietary fibre content which the entire range boasts of provides consumers with many added health benefits,” it said in a statement.

The fruits and vegetables used are of high quality, which assists in retaining its natural goodness even after processing takes place. The concentrates of vitamins and high dietary fibre, provides the necessary ingredients for a quick source of energy as well as assisting in easy bowel movements. The range helps consumers who wish to reduce or control weight gain, as well as those who prefer to minimize the intake of excessive sugar yet enjoy the naturally sweetened snacks and toppings, the statement added.

Tropical Fruit Cocktail is a combination of over five fruits and cashew nuts. This product can be eaten as a breakfast supplement or with breakfast cereal. It could be eaten as a snack, or as a topping with ice cream, it could be used in cakes and desserts too. The Silvermill Breakfast Bar the Fruit and Nut Breakfast Bar with Bees Honey, is the essence of goodness which adds to the richness of the fruit and high dietary fiber content with the nutritious bees honey which makes it a very appetizing snack as well. It is also be an ideal snack for kids since it serves as an energy booster. Dinesh Silva the COO of Silvermill Group says, “ we cannot say we are too busy to have breakfast as we now have an ideal supplement”.

Silvermill Spicy Mixed Vegibite is a crispy, appetizing snack. This product is a mixture of Jak fruit (Del) combined with garlic, curry leaves and dhal. The Vegibite category has been further developed to include Fruity bite snacks namely; Sweetened Mango and Sweetened Pineapple.
