An enthusiastic group of boys from the 'Child Protection Society Boys Home' found their sea legs when they visited the Royal Australian Navy patrol boat HMAS Glenelg.
The visiting vessel was docked in Colombo Harbour from January 28 to 31, as part of a good-will visit, which included a series of engagement activities with the Sri Lanka Navy.
Australian Naval officers organized a fun and engaging tour for the
boys, which included lifeboat and safety
equipment demonstrations, a tour of the Captain's control room and a first-hand lesson on how to navigate a war ship.
The crew of HMAS Glenelg had a great time showing the vessel to the boys.
The Australian High Commission has had a long history of engagement with the Child Protection Society which was established in 1928.
The Child Protection Society is committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children. |
