Launch of 'Ganaduraka Sihiwatana' (Memories of a Dark Era)

'Ganaduraka Sihiwatana – Eelam Aragalaye Awasan Adiyara' (Memories of a Dark Era – the last stages of the Eelam struggle) by Prof. G. H. Pieris and Prof. M. D. Nelson of the Geography Department of the University of Peradeniya will be launched on March 23 at 3.30 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute.

The launch will be chaired by Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera, while eminent archaeologist Ven. Ellawala Medhananda Thera, Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof. Gamini Samaranayake, Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Kelaniya Prof. Nalin De Silva and President's Counsel Gomin Dayasiri will be the speakers on this occasion.

The book looks at how Sri Lanka emerged gradually out of a dark era. The memories recounted in this work confirm that Sri Lanka, during this period, had not only to face the terrorist onslaught but also many other dark forces both open and hidden.

Though we have vanquished these diabolical forces in the battlefield, they are very much alive and active, the authors convey through this work.

'Ganaduraka Sihiwatana' is a Visidunu publication.
