NEW YORK, (Reuters Life!) - Pop star Britney Spears denied accusations by a former bodyguard that she caused him emotional distress by repeatedly parading herself around in the nude and having sex in front of him.
A statement posted Thursday on the 28-year-old pop star's website, said she and her lawyers expected a sexual harassment lawsuit filed on Wednesday by the bodyguard, Fernando Flores, to be dismissed.
“This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself,” the statement said.
Flores filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court seeking unspecified damages and accused Spears of causing him emotional distress by also having violent quarrels with her boyfriend in front of her two children, and swearing at him to fetch her beverages.
“The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a
proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action,” the Spears' statement said.
Spears, who lives in Los Angeles, recently filmed a cameo role in an episode of TV musical comedy “Glee,” after a successful world tour in 2009. |
