China became the single largest foreign donor to Sri Lanka last year, knocking off traditional financier Japan and also coming ahead of the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.
The Chinese government accounted for 54.3 percent of the total foreign commitments of US $ 2,221.7 million made that year.
Apart from a grant of US $ 2.4 million, the rest of the Chinese assistance came in the form of preferential buyer’s credit and buyer’s credit. |
