French movie ‘L’homme de ma vie’ (Gallant Ladies) , a film about a woman who goes in search of a man for reasons more than love, will be screened at 3 pm on Tuesday September 28 and at 6.30 pm on Wednesday, September 29 at Alliance Francaise de Colombo.
Directed by Jean Charles Tacchella, this 1992 film tells the story of Aimee who loses her job and she decides to find a husband who will keep her in the manner to which she intends to become accustomed.
Her first target is a misanthropic bookseller, Maurice. Although the two get on well together, Aimée is put off when she learns that Maurice has no money and is about to lose his shop. Enter Malcolm, a famous restaurant critic, who appears to be exactly what Aimée is looking for – well, at least he is rich. Aimée initially has no qualms about marrying Malcolm, but soon learns to regret her decision. Who is really the man of her life?
The entrance for the screening is free and the film in French subtitled in English is suitable for persons of 15 years and over. |
