Celebrating 40 years of success in style, Prenita fashions will mark this achievement with a Gala Fashion Show and the In Vogue Style Awards Nite.
Prenita Fashions was established in the 1970s by Nita Fernando and this was the first imported saree shop in Sri Lanka. She then invited her daughter, Priyanthi, to join hands with her in taking the store forward. Since then, with emphasis on high quality, for over four decades, Prenita Fashions has presented customers sarees that are elegant, exquisite and trendy. The red carpet event, which promises to be a magical evening, will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Oak room, Cinnamon Grand.
The Fashion Show will feature 96 exquisite and hand picked sarees from India. A rich variety of textures, colours and fabrics including cottons, chiffons, pure silks, crepes, nets and kanchipuram sarees as well as cocktail and wedding wear will be showcased by 18 models. Making it a truly memorable evening, guests will be photographed and interviewed and treated to champagne, cocktails and dinner. The event will be followed by an After Party, which will be held at Sequel.
Priyanthi Fernando, Managing Director of Prenita Fashions describes the event as a limited edition show. The night will also feature Sri Lanka's first ever Style Awards, presented by "In Vogue" magazine. The Style Awards aims to recognise and reward eight Sri Lankan women of all ages who have made a mark in the fashion industry over the years.
Choreographed by Graham Hatch, the hair and makeup for the show will be done by Capello Salon. Saree drape will be done by Surangi and her team. Compere for the night will be Kumar De Silva and the décor will be designed by Lucient De Silva. PR coordination will be done by Glenda Parthipan, while photography and video will be by Ravi Silva. The concept for the Style Awards was conceived by Priyanthi Fernando and Sumitha Radha along with Pritiva Dharmadasa, Managing Editor of In Vogue magazine. |
