Never has Colombo seen so many fashion shows and boutique openings during a Christmas season as this season, and the latest was the unveiling of a couture collection and the launch of Michelle Therese Atelier at the Casa Colombo.
The show opened with the playing of the remix medley Zuel Passion by AM E Toki, setting the tone for a chic Parisian runway. And, true to form, were the lissome models sashaying on the rose-petal strewn catwalk bringing out the feminine allure in her French inspired collection, using soft chiffon, sheer lace, and layered texture and innocent use of light colour with strong strokes of bold colours colliding, for a chic runway show. Well structured boleros, superb use of well-fitting trousers, layered skirts, floral maxis, printed silk dresses and sharp attention to detail, made this feminine collection, very alluring. Her palette featured mainly typical autumn hues, and neutrals mixed with the occasional splash of colour.
Wearing one of her creations, an orange floor-sweeping maxi dress, the designer Michelle Jinasena (wife of Lalin Jinasena of Casa Colombo fame) walked the catwalk at the conclusion of her debut fashion show. Also, adding chic and high glamour to this classy evening were Colombo's fashion-conscious set, who turned up in their stunning outfits! |
