The Guides of the 30th Colombo Girl Guide Company, Devi Balika Vidyalaya, were happy campers at the annual camp held at the
school premises with
Ms. Mangalika Gunaratne as the Camp License Holder.
While on their hike, the Guides along with their
lieutenant,
Ms. Nanda Devagiri took active steps to
protect the
environment, by participating in the “Ruk Ropana” Programme held at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya.

guidance of the Guide Captains Pushpa Perera, Lakshmi Gunaratne and Nanda Devagiri.

performed a Bhartha Natyam Dance item at the Deepavali
festival held at her school.
The journey of a Rain-drop
I am a rain-drop. One day I fell into a garden.
It is a nice garden. There were Mango trees too.
The garden was very happy to see me. From the
garden I slowly came out and I came to a paddy field.
But some paddy plants were faded. My friends and I went there and the faded paddy slowly grew up. A farmer saw it and he was very happy. After a few days I went away. I fell into another canal. There I met a few fish and a frog. All of us floated together happily.
Oh! We then met the sea. The sea water welcomed me. My friends did not come. The sea fish sang a song for me. I saw the people at the
seashore and they were playing. There were turtles, starfish, cuttlefish and dolphins. I got lost in the sea.
