“Flamboyance 2011” brings fashion to a different platform. This Leo District 306 C1 charity fundraiser is for the construction of a Transit Home for the outpatients of the National Cancer Institute in Maharagama (NCI).
Fifteen fashion designers found favour with an eminent panel of industry experts who convened to judge Flamboyance 2011.
The 15 finalists will put on show a dazzling display of design and out of the box creativity on January 30, 2011 at Galadari hotel, Colombo.
The climax of the show will be when the winner is named, ending the quest for the year’s Best Designer.
Selected after a rigorous interview, the contesting designers impressed judges who picked the finalists in four categories -casual, sports, evening and fantasy wear- based on creativity, practicality and presentation of designs and out of the box thinking.
The finalists who will unveil their collections are Nayani Weliwatte, Kuvini Gamage, Niluka Kaushalya Wanigarathne, Asheni Palihawadana, Thushan Nawanjana Ranasinghe, Dimithri Nathasha, Jacqueline Hettiarachchi Morapitiya, Udani Nilanka Nilaweera, Marini Fernando, Nimanthika Soysa, Shashi Lokugamage, Kalani De Silva, Avishka Galhena, Ishani Wakunagoda and Shane Pereira.
Fashion consultant Prassanna Pathmanathan, who’s jointly presenting Flamboyance 2011 with Leo District 306 C1, (also head of marketing representing the event communication partner Cameron Pale & Medina) was exhilarated by the enthusiasm of designers participating in the event.
Flamboyance 2011 will also be showcasing the collections of three top designers. |
