Jayampathi Bandaranayake has quit the board of Hayleys where he served for more than six years saying this is due to time constraints (in the performance of his duties).
Mr Bandaranayake is currently Chairman of the government’s Board of Investment and also serves on some other boards including Ceylon Tobacco Co (where he is the non-executive chairman). Until his resignation on January 26, the Hayleys board had a unique combination of a serving BOI chairman and a former BOI chairman – Dhammika Perera who, along with his related companies, has a 30 % stake in the respected conglomerate. |
