Five Japanese NGOs affiliated to the Japan Platform (JPF) -- Association for Aid and Relief Japan, Peace Winds Japan, PARC Interpeople’s Cooperation, Save the Children Japan and World Vision Japan are providing relief assistance worth 47.2 million Japanese Yen (over Rs. 62 million) to flood victims with funding from the Government of Japan.
The assistance includes provision of food and non-food items, support for cleaning of contaminated wells and reconstruction of education facilities in flood affected areas. This assistance is aimed at facilitating the early resettlement of those displaced and ensuring normalcy in the affected areas. This is an additional support from the people of Japan to the flood victims, according to the Japanese embassy. |
