Well-known contemporary artist Anup Vega holds his ninth solo art show at the Lionel Wendt on February 18, 19 and 20 from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Unbound by a theme, it is a stunning compilation of the ‘random art works’ (paintings and drawings) that he has collected since 2000.
Born in 1967 in Kurunegala- it was the passion that he had for art, since he was a child that he has honed over the years. “Art is living and living is Art. I have never attended any art academy and mastered the subject,” he says humbly.
It is his view of nature, his view of sansaraya (the cycle of life) and Buddhism that he develops into a picture combining his creativity and innovative ideas instead of restricting himself to any boundaries.
Vega has conducted various workshops and group exhibitions in Sri Lanka and also -at the SAARC artists camp in Rajasthan, India.
