In what is now seen as a matter of course, a delegation from the International Monetary (IMF) visiting Colombo said on Friday that the fund would approve another installment of $217 million by April, the seventh tranche under the $2.5 billion Standby Arrangement (SBA loan).
Dr. Brian Aitken, Chief, IMF SBA Review Mission, told reporters after the delegation spent more than a week in Colombo that the recommendation for the seventh tranche would be made to the IMF board in Washington and the installment would be disbursed at the same time.
He said the recommendation was based on the performance of the Sri Lankan economy and the targets set under the SBA. |
