Four new records by Ali Isphahani International Schools swimming

Lyceum International School, Nugegoda emerged champions in the Inter-International Schools swimming championships concluded at the Ananda College pool yesterday. Lyceum collected a massive 1017 points to finish on top while Asian International School (AIS) finished second with 876 points. Lyceum Wattala was a close third with 853 points. Gateway College was fourth with 521 points.

In all there were 27 new meet records established over the two days of the meet. Ali Isphahani of AIS established four new meet records and was adjudged the champion swimmer in the over-16 boys’ category.

Udara Cumarathunga of Gateway was adjudged the champion swimmer in the girl’s over-16 category. She established a new meet record in the 50 metres back stroke event with a time of 34.96 seconds.
National swimmer Matthew Abeysinghe of AIS also established a new meet record in the 50 metres free style event and was adjudged the champion swimmer in the under-16 age group. He won three events at the meet.

Sithara Perera of British School was adjudged champion swimmer in the under-16 girls group and won three events.
