The speaker held all in the train enthralled with his cricket talk. He spoke about the various cricketers with great knowledge and spoke in glowing terms of certain cricketers as if he knows them quite well. The crowd in the train did not utter a sound wen the chap was talking. However one individual was heard to have said that the man at the centre of these uttering works in a hospital and that too in a mental ward. He also said that sometime back this individual had shoved someone off the train to the tracks because he dared to talk back to him.
 Ticket racket
When will this ticket racket end? We are of course referring to the World Cup fever that has hit the country. The talk is that there are four individuals selling tickets at a much higher price than those marked in the tickets and that they are being sold by certain individuals who have these tickets hidden in shorts beneath their sarongs. It is also believed that these four guys are being manipulated by someone higher up in the organization.
The bogus boss
It looks as if certain individuals have developed great strength by associating themselves with great individuals. A man of this type is supposed to have told a top coach that it is not correct to barge into a gym when the top man is in the room. It was later found out that this individual is nothing but a peon attached to the firm concerned. When it was revealed who this person is the top coach lost her cool and blasted the individual in no uncertain terms.
Who is the chief guest?
Who are the real chief guests? A certain room kept aside for these types of individuals at a top sporting center in the metropolis was barred from the chief guest at a certain sports meeting. The people who were in charge of this VIP room did not consider the chief guest to be that great as they consider only certain higher ups as belonging to this category.
 Small man, big plans
We all know that certain things are happening at a certain sport which is the talk of the town these days. One such thing is that a top former individual is trying to make a comeback and helping him to the hilt is a so called small individual, who is small in size but has big plans in his head.
Muscle troubles
The Schwarzenegger type is in the midst of a storm again. This time a certain official is pointing out a finger at him and giving telephone calls to a big man in the scene so that his reputation will be tarred forever. This has happened on the wake of cetain visas not being given to the muscled guy.
Rancid lunch packets
The food that was served to the chaps providing security to a leading ground in Colombo came under severe criticism as it had given a rancid smell when the packet was opened. However the situation was brought under control, so we heard. Then the same trouble cropped up in an outstation venue. It was later learnt that the wife of a top guy in the trade was at the helm of things and did not want the matter probed. It is also learnt that $ 8 is being spent for thdse packets by the people concerned. |
