Larry Levan (born Lawrence Philpot) was a DJ best known for his decade long residency at the New York City night club, ‘Paradise Garage’ which has been described as the prototype of the modern dance club. Listen to some rare tunes hardly played at venues in Sri Lanka. Tunes from Jimmy Ross, Instant Funk, Sly and Robbie , Gwen Guthrie, Ashford and Simpson , Crown heights Affair, Melba Moore, T- Connection, Stephanie Mills and many from the NYC underground in the mid 70’s will be the order of the evening- all of these on vinyl too. |
