Ashan Silva and Kumarasinghe triumph at Radella Hill Climb

Ashan Silva and Sarath Kumarasinghe grabbed the limelight to win the championship awards at the Radella Hill Climb which was conducted at Radella yesterday. Silva clocked the best timing in his Mitsubishi Evolution VIII car with 33.19 seconds to win the driver’s championship while Kumarasinghe recorded the best timing in motorbikes with 37.68 seconds to win the title.

Silva who competed in the SL-GT upto 3500cc group outran favourite drivers as he clocked 34.88 seconds in his first attempt and bettered with 33.19 seconds in his second attempt.
Kumarasinghe competed under the MX-Racing Motocross Bikes upto 125cc (2T) and 250cc (4T) category and clocked 37.88 seconds on his first attempt. He went on to better his timing with 37.68 seconds on his second effort.

Shiran Samuel who raced in a Honda CBR 250 set a new course record for the event the Group O Standard motorcycles upto 250 cc with a timing of 41.78 seconds. He bettered the previous record set by Maduranga Caldera who timed 42.49 seconds.

Shashike Lakmal Wijeratne set a new record by timing 46.90 seconds in the Austin Mini 1000 event while Lilananda Krishnaratna competing in the Group SLN Cars Upto 1000cc clocked 47.96 seconds to win the event.

The Radella Hille Climb was organized by the SLARDAR and sponsored by Ceat tires.
