He starred in one of the biggest manhunts in history -- and now he's getting his own film.
An inevitable movie about the hunt for and killing of al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan this month, by Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow, will be released next year.
The events will be incorporated into a film the Oscar-winning director was already working on with screenwriter Mark Boal about the U.S. Navy Special Forces unit that killed Bin Laden.
Columbia Pictures agreed to distribute the film -- following reports that Bigelow, who worked on 2008 Iraq War hit The Hurt Locker with Boal, was working on it earlier this month.

'With the death of Osama bin Laden, this film could not be more relevant,' Amy Pascal, of Columbia's parent company Sony Pictures Entertainment - based in Culver City, California - said.
'Kathryn and Mark have an outstanding perspective on the team that was hunting the most wanted man in the world. Mark is second to none as an investigative journalist.
'And Kathryn will bring the same kind of compelling authenticity and urgency that distinguished The Hurt Locker and made that film so memorable and special.'

The U.S. Navy Special Forces film project has been in development since 2008, but it will now focus on 'the Black Ops mission to capture or kill' Bin Laden, the studio said.
Work will start on the film -- which will also have True Grit executive producer Megan Ellison and Hurt Locker producer Greg Shapiro on the crew -- this summer, and it will have a U.S. release in late 2012.
Boal and Bigelow had a huge hit with the Oscar-winning Hurt Locker and will be hoping for a similar performance with their latest film.
It is understood King Arthur and Star Wars actor Joel Edgerton is negotiating to play one of the SEALs, but no rumours have yet surfaced as to who will play Bin Laden.
The film will follow other movies about 9/11 and the events surrounding it, such as Oliver Stone's World Trade Center and Paul Greengrass's United 93.
It comes after a computer game add-on for popular first-person shooter Counter Strike was shared on the internet this month to allow video gamers to recreate the attack on Bin Laden's compound.
