Constantly seeking to share musical talent between countries, the De Lanerolle Brothers will present the Malaysian choir with the unusual name, Caipi Fruta, to Colombo audiences.
Caipi Fruta is made up of Tracy Wong (soprano) , Lai Suk Yin (alto), Aaron Teoh (tenor), Joel Wong (baritone) and Jazz pianist Wei Zhong. So, for a tongue-in-cheek and colourful evening of musical exploration, get yourself down to the Wendt on Monday, June 20.
Just like the cocktail drink which inspired their name, Caipi Fruta aims to tantalise and relax the senses with splashes of jazz, a dash of pop and even a slice of Broadway, all shaken together with a twist of humour and a few surprises.
Originally started by Susanna Saw and Tay Cher Siang as a quartet for the Young KL Singers’ jazz production, the original group enjoyed the experience so much they decided to make the quartet a permanent institution.
They will perform at the Lionel Wendt with a guest performance by the De Lanerolle Brothers on June 20, at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are available at the Lionel Wendt, Commons and Park Street Mews priced at Rs. 1000, 750, 500 and 200 (balcony).
