A delegation of "Top Management" from the Guangzhou Civil Aviation College of China, lead by Ms Sylvia Li Shaolin along with the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Mr Lian Zhisheng & the Dean of the Faculty of Cabin Crew training Ms Angela Xiaoming are in Colombo to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the two Colleges, covering many exciting study programs which lead to Important & lucrative employment opportunities in Civil Aviation in the International arena.
The signing of the MoU document took place on the 4th of July at a grand ceremony which took place at the American International School which is a subsidiary of the American College of Higher Education, Dehiwela, with several leading Colleges in the Country participating in the event.

The signing of the MoU opens a vast horizon of study programs & career opportunities for the Youth of Sri Lanka, bringing with it an array of skills & knowledge which are in high demand across the World.
Civil Aviation is an area which provides many exciting & well paying careers World wide, which unfortunately for our youth, was denied to them due to security considerations.
Happily, this situation is now changed and careers in this field are now open to the Youth of Sri Lanka.
The American College of Higher Education, Dehiwela, implements several joint programs with the World recognized Guangzhou Civil Aviation College (GCAC) of China.
The GCAC is owned by the Government of China, administered by the Civil Aviation Authority of China and is the No:1 Civil Aviation College in China. It's education programs are respected, recognized and accepted Worldwide.
The American College is one of the oldest Educational Institutions in Sri Lanka, now in its 17th year and the quality of the education imparted by us is amply recognized by our appointment by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools of USA, as an Off Shore Campus.
The programs on offer by ACHE/GCAC cover many areas of study on the 1+1 basis with the 1st year at ACHE & the 2nd year at GCAC in China, including ;- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering,
Avionics, Structural Repair, Tourism & Travel - Flight Services.
All these programs are open to both Boys & Girls, the 1st batch of students being scheduled to transfer to China in September 2011.
Both ACHE & GCAC encourage female students to follow these programs and in a ground breaking move, female students will transfer to China in September in the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program, up to now the exclusive domain of the males.
Currently The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering & the Tourism & Travel - Flight Services programs are being implemented, while the other courses of study will be introduced in the near future.
A special feature of these programs is the very affordable cost, well within the means of Sri Lankan students.
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering program provides a pathway for young aspirants to gain a well recognized Diploma with career progression to ultimately be professionally recognized as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - a career which combines high salaries with much responsibility & status.
The Cabin Crew/ Flight Stewardess program is covered by the Tourism & Travel - Flight Services course and gives a comprehensive training to prepare students for the International Airline trade, giving our youth a golden opportunity of becoming Cabin Crew in International Airlines across the Globe.
With the signing of this MoU, the doors have been opened to our Youth - both boys & girls - for study courses leading to highly paid jobs in the Civil Aviation industry. Now, our Youth can grab the opportunities.
