In addition Sterilized milk, Flavoured Milk, Curd and Ready to serve Fresh Fruit Drinks also popular recent new products under Lucky brand.
Lucky is the one and only yoghurt with SLS certification in Sri Lanka due to the dedicated commitment towards the quality management of the product and the process. Lucky brand products are also certified with GMP-Good Manufacturing Practices. Now the company has completed all the pre-requirements to be qualified for ISO 22000.Beofre using ISO 22000 for food products HACCP was used to certified food products for the same standards. Later on the qualifications to be certified for HACCP were also included in ISO 22000.Lucky Lanka is getting prepared to obtain the Halal Certification too.
Lucky Lanka owns the largest cold distribution network in Sri Lanka having operated more that 150 freezer distribution vehicles all over the country including the North & East.
The company's main concern is on offering a quality product and user friendly product always to the consumer .So that the quality checking involves at incoming raw materials, in process as well as the finished product stages and before providing to the market. Lucky is the first to introduce pro-biotic culture in yoghurt with Lactobacillus accidopilus and Bifidobacterium providing more health benefits and maintain colon health and improve absorption of Vitamin B and increase the immunity.
New processing plan with the investment of Rs.200 Million has been completed by now and start the commercial production shortly in order to cater to the ever increasing demand for Lucky brand products. The present processing capacity of 10,000 liters of milk per day has been increased up to 20,000 litres per day with the new plant.UHT milk packets will also be coming to the market very soon under the new processing plant.
Lucky Lanka always promotes local values and uses only local fresh milk for their production. Fresh milk is collected from milk collection centres located in different rural areas of the country such as Kotagala, Pannegamuwa, Welimada, Galle, Matara, Kamburupitiya etc. providing the highest price for fresh milk of local farmers. The objective of the company is to create more conducive environment for local a farmers to produce fresh milk and there by contribute to reduce 20 Billion of foreign currency incurred to import milk powder per annum.
Lucky Lanka has opened exclusive outlets by the name of 'KIRI KATHA 'to provide more efficient service to the consumers .Fresh milk, Fresh fruit Juices and all Lucky brand products are available at these outlets in Matara and Rathnapura cities. Pineapple, Banana, Papaw from the farm of the company are used to prepare fresh juices in these outlets. This farm is also operating as the training unit to improve the knowledge of dairy farmers in the surrounding area to join hands with Faculty of Agriculture, University of the Ruhuna.
Lucky Lanka has been awarded at many national and regional events for the social, entrepreneurial and industrial excellence of performances. Silver award at Industrial Excellence award 2010 held by Ceylon National Chamber of Industries, Gold Award for Manufacturing sector at National Agri-Business awards 2010 and Best stall award for food category at Pro-Food -2010 are the recent awards won by the company for best performances.
