The University of Wollongong (UOW) has had its position as one of the top two per cent of universities in the world confirmed by its performance in three prestigious international rankings:

• QS World University Rankings 2011
• Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities 2011
• Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011

These rankings provide a comprehensive assessment of universities across a range of criteria, including research excellence, employer reviews and degree quality.

The high profile 2012 Good Universities Guide reveals the University of Wollongong has continued its decade-long plus record of five star results overall for its domestic and international graduates. UOW gained a maximum five stars in the categories of 'Getting a Job', 'Positive Graduate Outcomes', 'Graduate Satisfaction', 'Staff Qualifications' and 'Generic Skills'.

UOW offers programmes from foundation to doctorate in business, engineering, IT & computer science, humanities, creative arts, education, law, medicine, health and science. The main campus is in Wollongong city, with graduate business programmes also offered in Sydney. UOW conducts programmes internationally in Malaysia, Singapore and through the long-standing campus in Dubai. Full credit transfer pathways are available between UOW's various teaching sites.

UOW's reputation for teaching and research is also enhanced by the environment of the City of Wollongong, 80 km south of Sydney and Australia's 9th largest city. As expressed by Udeshini Pathirage in the Sunday Times of August 28 2011, "All the infrastructure of any modern city is here, however without the crowds and pollution that make life stressful. The scenery here is spectacular, a beautiful beach, mountains and across the road from the Uni the botanical garden is a great place to relax. All these things combine to making intensive research studies easier".

Sri Lankan students will have the opportunity to apply for several scholarships, including the Engineering Scholars International Scholarship for Bachelor of Engineering in the University's internationally renowned Engineering Faculty. Scholarships are also available for Master's courses offered by the UOW Sydney Business School, as well as scholarships for Foundation, Diploma and English language courses.
