Mount Lavinia Hotel will present an eminent classical music highlight on 20 October in the Empire Ballroom, when the renowned “Morita String Quartet” lead by Masahiro Morita will take the stage to offer a night of unforgettable music, where passion comes to play.
The Morita String Quartet has captivated audiences, since it was founded many years ago. Regarded as one of the supreme ensembles of the world, The Morita string quartet has collaborated with a remarkable array of artists and composers. The String Quartet is one of the most prominent chamber ensembles in classical music. Performing many concerts worldwide each season, the quartet which has devoted international following across the globe, will be performing at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.
The quartet - Masahiro Morita (Violin), Asa Nakajima (Violin), Gentaro Sakaguchi (Viola) and Hiroshi Miyasaka (Violoncello). The group will be accompanied by Eshantha J Peiris. The programme includes well loved classical works such as Joseph Haydn : String Quartet No 62 “Emperor” in C-Major Op 76 No. 3, Antonin Dvorak : String Quartet No 12 “America” in F-Major Op. 96, Lalantha de Silva : Piano Quintet “Tablesque” (World Premiere) and Robert Schumann : Piano Quintet in E-Flat Major Op 44.
