The HNB Officers' Union Regional Meeting and Get Together was held on the 25th of October 2011 at the Swiss Residence Hotel in Kandy, from 7.15 PM onwards. The event commenced with the registration of the participants at the event, followed by a welcoming speech by General Secretary Mr. Fazhal Mohommad. In the speech, he highlighted the importance of this type of events to go forward firmly with unity among all the members.
The welcoming speech was later followed by the keynote address, delivered by the President Mr. Indrajith Senadhira, and he requested all the participants to coordinate with the Executive Committee to make the union a success.
He mentioned how the Union started functioning 5 years back with many a difficulty and told that he and all Executive Committee members would be highly satisfied about the present situation of the Union, and also he kindly requested all the members to come forward with their problems for them to discuss with the management. He especially thanked the Executive Committee members who came all the way from Colombo to participate this important event, organized for the benefit of the members.
Then there was an open forum where all the participants were allowed to express their views about the present situation and also the future of the HNB Officers' Union.
Mr. Kanchana Karunagama, Assistant Secretary of the Union, delivered the vote of thanks, followed by the fellowship and dinner from 8.50 PM onwards. |
