Two people were arrested on Friday in connection with the killing of a school teacher in Mutur, Sampur Police said. On being questioned one of the men had admitted that the teacher was killed for her jewellery, police said.
According to police, 33-year-old Kurukulasingham Srivathani left home around 7 a.m. on Wednesday for Pattalipuram Tamil Mixed School, about seven kms from her residence, on her scooter. She was carrying a handbag and wore jewellery.
Police found her body and the scooter at Killikunchchumalai between Pattalipuram and Kaddaiparichchan. The body bore stab injuries. Her jewellery excluding her ear-rings and her hand bag were missing. |
