A tour on an Air-Taxi

On the night of December 8, we got the shock of our lives. My father asked us to read some newspapers. After we read them, we were aware that the day ahead was going to be full of fun. We were facing a trip on an Air-Taxi and a two-day stay at Chaaya Citadel, Kandy!
I got so excited that I hardly slept. At last the big day arrived! The time we arrived at Peliyagoda dock, it was 7.30 a.m. The Air-Taxi started on a slow glide on the water and by the time we were in the air hovering over the island, we had got enough and more snap-shots and video clips.
At about 8, we landed at Polgolla dock. We stood there for a little time till our vehicle arrived.
Then we were led to our room where we rested for a minute.
The garden was right in front of our room, so we played badminton
everyday and also swam in the pool thrice. The food was really awesome.
Then the time came for us to leave. I was really sad, but returning home was fun too (as it was in the Air-Taxi again). I really was fascinated. Thanks a lot Thaththa!
Christmas
By Leandra Nicole Don (8 years),
Negombo South Int. School, Piliyandala
It’s Christmas time again! Christmas is a festival celebrated all around the world. We wait for the birth of a baby in a manger.
His name is Jesus.
In our homes we decorate a Christmas tree with bright lights, tinsel balls and other Christmas tree decorations. We go to church on Christmas morning with our family. Santa Claus brings us gifts. We also think of poor children and give them gifts too.
We sing carols, and have a lot of fun at Christmas parties. We have cakes and other sweets made in our homes.
Christmas is a time for giving and sharing with others, and it is also a time for peace and love.
The Gateway to Miracle

Another thing has been written in gold. That is the first Highway, which was opened on November 27, 2011. It starts from Kottawa and ends in Galle. It is 95km long. You have to maintain a speed of 100km per hour. Because of this highway, you can save a lot of time. Your fuel will also not be wasted. All businesses will find the highway useful to
transport goods.
Our president is the first person who opened the highway. He also was the first person to buy
tickets and he went on the highway with his family. He drove for the first time in ten years! When the journey came to an end, the president left and the highway was open to the public.
There are many benefits of this highway.
It reduces traffic, delay costs and fuel costs. Fisheries, agriculture, tourism, industries, economic centres, inland regions, Galle port, all this will be developed.
All vehicles will have to pay around five hundred rupees before entering the highway.
There are some vehicles for which the amount changes. You also have to have your vehicle in good condition.
Obey the road rules and you can have a quick, safe journey.
