The CR&FC at Longdon Place is gearing with great anticipation for the forthcoming Inter-Club rugby season which starts in June.
With this in mind the ‘Red Shirts’ decided on Rienzie Fernando to be their President for the ensuing year at its 83rd Annual General Meeting. The CR&FC was founded by Col. Ernest Henley Joseph in 1922.

“We are going ahead with plans for our sports complex, swimming pool, an archery range and four badminton courts,” said Rienzie Fernando.
Lasintha de Costa, Sri Lanka’s center three-quarter and an Old Isipathanian will lead the side with C.P. Abeygunewardena as Coach assisted by Viraj Prashantha and Rohan Chinthaka as Manager. Lasintha De Costa’s deputy will be Ishan Noor, the former St. Peter’s powerhouse.
It is also heartening to note that Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy who led Sri Lanka at the 1974 Rugby Asiad in Colombo, where Sri Lanka gained second slot to Japan, is also in the CR Rugby Board together with Tony De Sylva.
