Funday Times - A Poem for the week

The ‘unsinkable’ vessel

By Haala Marikar (11 years), AQL Int. School

She still does lie in silence,
Bleeding long rivers of rust,
Between life and death,
a fence,
Slowly turning into dust…

Her name is still
remembered,
Though a hundred years have passed,
Only death she did render,
Her grave echoes one word, ‘Alas!’

She ignored many ice
warnings ahead,
Strong faith in her
ultimate speed,
Little knowing of to what it would lead,
For the next moment, the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic,
Was draped in curtains of seaweed…
