The Kilinochchi District Chamber of Commerce and Vavuniya District Chamber of Commerce have launched Chamber Business Development Consultants Group, according to an official statement.
It has been done with the support of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCISL) and Aus-aid funded ILO-LEED project on February 3.
The umbrella chamber group, FCCISL, said in the statement that the Chamber Business Development Consultants Group comprised 16 SIYB trainers representing public, private and NGOs in Vavuniya and Kilinochchi districts. The main objectives of this consultant groups are developing strong relationship among chambers and make awareness on up-to-date business information among the network. Addressing the group of consultants, Krishantha Wiesenthige, Head of the Projects & Services division - FCCISL, explained the model of a chamber and objectives of the Chamber Development Consultants group.
A road map was drawn up at the end of the programme, clearly demarcating specific responsibilities of each party and also agreed to develop strong communication system among consultants and chambers. It is scheduled in the plan to develop a publicity plan for consultancy group, organize SIYB workshop for 140 MSMEs in both districts and establish a proper follow up system with the coordination of the Vavuniya chamber. |
